Bodegas Bleda

Image of Bodegas Bleda

Bodegas Bleda has a long winemaking tradition in Jumila DO,located in Murcia. This vastly improving DO (it is the DO in Spain with the largest amount of vineyard area) produces great value wines of increasing quality.

Vineyard Area : 233 hA.

Grapes Grown : Monastrell.

Bodegas Bleda’s 233 hA vineyard is to the north of the town of Jumilla.

Vines are planted on mainly limestone soils at an elevation of 729M above sea level. This elevation explains partially why Bleda can produce such a refreshing and lively white as their Castillo de Jumilla Macabeo.

The main red grape planted is Monastrell, Jumilla’s signature grape, which produces warm, spicy full-bodied reds. The winemaking facility at Bleda is both new and modern with a capacity of 800,000 bottles per year. Winemakers Juan Jiminez Martinez and Alfonso Hernandez Canals make the absolute best of the raw materials at their disposal and the pinnacle of their work can be seen in the estates top wine Divus, a 100% Monistrell unfiltered red wine aged for 9 months in new French oak barrels.
