Market Newsletter 2nd December 2010

Welcome to this week's newsletter! Firstly, many thanks to so many of you who came along to the market last Saturday, despite the awful weather conditions, we really appreciate your continued support.

As I write this, it is hard to know what will happen weather/traffic wise over the next few days, except that it is unlikely to be pretty. So, please check our website at www.honest2goodness.ie for uptodate market news for this Saturday - we promise to keep it updated with news as it happens.

We are currently planning on being open for business on Saturday.

As Jim Ryan told me earlier 'if I have to drive the tractor up, I'll be there'!! I hope it doesnt come to that...

And Joe from Blazing Salads said: Hell or high water won't stop the bread run...

We are very conscious that everyone needs to stock up on food supplies to keep going through the bad weather, so we'll do everything we can to be open on Saturday - but of course, if the roads become too dangerous, we'll review things. Just hearing the detailed forecast for Saturday, it looks like temperatures will be above freezing during the day.

Find out more about our Craft Fair participants next week on the 11th of December, 2010. Please tell all your friends and neighbours!

We have finished our current Charity recipient for the Charity Bookstall, and you have raised over €600 for Our Children's Hospital in Crumlin - well done! Our Charity for the next two months is 'OneFamily', and we'll tell you more about that charity next week.

Stallholder news:

So far, only Phoenix Delites have confirmed that they wont be at the market on Saturday. We expect that it will be difficult for Gannet Fishmongers to make it, given that they have a good distance to travel.

Wines of the week: Colm has gone completely snow-mad this week and is doing a pre-Budget special of 15% off all our wines on Saturday - yes, all your favourites will be available at 15% discount. Last chance to stock up before any Budget changes kick in - and lets face it, it is unlikely that the changes will improve prices!

WE ARE POSTPONING THE PRE-CHRISTMAS WINE TASTING TIL THE 11TH!

In the cafe, we are planning to have normal fare - filling comfort food of  winter vegetable soup (i.e. have to wait til the veg stall gets here to know what veg will feature!) and Greek Meatballs in tomato& veg sauce (please note that as we use some Blazing Salads boule in this recipe, the dish contains wheat and gluten).
