Bank Holiday weekend wine special!

To celebrate the Bank Holiday weekend, we have two of our newest wines available on special offer.  They are from the Piemonte region of Italy, the white having tropical fruit tastes, with melon and a spicy fennel flavour - made mostly from the Favorita grape (one of the many local grape varieties in Italy!).

The red is made from 100% Dolcetto grape, and is a spicy wine with red and black fruit flavours. Both these wines normally retail at €15, and are on offer on Saturday for €12.75. we'll have each of these wines open at the Wine Stall on Saturday for you to try.

Pascale from Phoenix Delites wont be with us this weekend, but will return the following Saturday.

Cafe news: The soup of the day will be spicy pumpkin and the hot dish of the day will be our Deconstructed Shepherd Pie with its parsnip & turmeric topping. Both great for a cool day! You will be happy to hear that we are researching heating options for the cafe at the moment, and hope to have some installed by the middle of November, but in the meantime, dont forget your fleecy jacket!

Pantry news:

This week we will have some new products available at the pantry, with the arrival of the Taste a Memory Foods. These are traditional pies, made with local ingredients and as Anne Bradfield, their creator says: ‘Taste a Memory is all about recreating the food memories of my childhood - coming in from school on a cold day to a warm kitchen, and my mother putting a hearty wholesome pie on the table for dinner’. Due to how they are packaged, they have a longer shelf life than the Dish of the Day at the market, so will fill that niche of a convenient healthy meal during the week! The dishes will be available for tasting on Saturday at The Tasting Table.

Food Hero awards

Congratulations to the winners of our Food Hero and Best Food product awards, as voted by our customers!


We as the Honest2Goodness team are proud and honoured to have won the Gold Medal award for Food Heroes, thanks to all of you who voted for us!

 Jim Ryan won the Silver Medal and was chuffed to get his plaque!


The Spud Man was busy making a cup of tea and didnt hear that he had got an award!

Best Food product awards

Best Food product Gold Medal went to Blazing Salads for their Rosemary & Olive Bread.


Silver going to the Eggs at the Spud Stall, who gets his supply from Des Crinion outside Slane. Here are the chickens doing their thing at the farm.


The Bronze Medal went to the Hummus from The Real Olive Company, which is always a popular option with customers, making chickpeas taste great! Mairtin collected the prize on behalf of Brendan O'Mahony.
